Gross Salary: 350-400k,

Our client is a leading fintech company who offer customizable payment solutions designed to fit unique business needs are seeking to hire a skilled and experienced Senior Technical Operations Manager to define and execute the company’s technology vision, product strategy, and team leadership. 

This role oversees the strategic direction of technology, ensuring alignment with business goals, product strategy, and operational efficiency. The Seniour Operations Manager will evaluate and optimize the technology stack, drive innovation, and ensure reliable, scalable, and secure systems. The ideal candidate will ensure that our technology operations run smoothly and support our strategic goals, providing hands-on expertise and leadership to a cross-functional team.

Strategic Leadership & Team Management

  • Drive the strategic vision for the engineering and other tech teams, aligning technology initiatives with business objectives.
  • Develop, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of growth, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Set strategic goals for technology and align departmental objectives to support overall business strategy.
  • Conduct regular team and individual performance reviews, offering constructive feedback, setting measurable goals, and ensuring professional development.
  • Act as an advisor and mentor to technical leads, promoting a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.

Operational Oversight & Process Improvement

  • Oversee and direct daily technical operations, ensuring system reliability, scalability, and uptime, while focusing on long-term improvement
  • Oversee and manage the performance of servers, databases, and applications.
  • Lead efforts to identify and resolve complex operational issues, while promoting proactive monitoring and preventive measures.
  • Establish, maintain, and continually refine engineering and operational standards, focusing on operational excellence.

Infrastructure & Systems Management:

  • Oversee the management, configuration, and maintenance of databases and  applications including .NET Framework, .NET Core, and SQL Server, and others
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of Linux and Windows server environments to support business-critical applications.
  • Ensure efficient deployment and management of both Windows and Linux systems, implementing best practices for security, performance, and reliability.

Technical Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Serve as a technical leader and provide guidance to the technical operations and development teams.
  • Collaborate with software engineering and product teams to align technology with business goals.
  • Develop and implement processes for efficient cross-functional communication and incident management.

Project Support & Resource Planning:

  • Support Project Managers in resource planning, prioritization, and project execution to ensure alignment with business priorities.
  • Assist in setting realistic timelines, allocating engineering resources effectively, and managing competing priorities.
  • Ensure engineering team members are available and equipped to meet project requirements while balancing ongoing development needs.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure successful project delivery.

Security & Compliance:

  • Ensure all systems meet regulatory and compliance requirements, particularly those relevant to fintech.
  • Implement and maintain security protocols and practices to safeguard data and infrastructure.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Report regularly on key metrics, performance, and incidents to senior leadership, providing actionable insights.
  • Ensure documentation of operational processes, procedures, and issue resolutions, ensuring knowledge sharing and continuity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in technical operations, systems management, software development or a similar role, preferably in fintech or financial services.
  • Proficiency in object oriented programming languages such as Java or C#
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases, database design, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in both Linux and Windows environments.
  • Experience working closely with Quality Assurance (QA) teams, software engineers, technical support teams and product managers
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and team management abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in a fintech or financial services environment.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization tools like Docker.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
