Job Description

Job Purpose

To provide financial reports for the region to the CFO, Global Finance Department, company management, and external partners in financial reporting, accounting and tax matters. The support is achieved through group financial reporting, strong technical skills, development of financial reporting models and ensuring the financial integrity of the statutory accounting records/group management accounts. Act as the global link between South Africa, SSA and Cipla India as the main point of contact for any queries, financial, tax or secretarial.

Accountabilities

  • P and L consolidation for SSA monthly P and L report and analysis of actuals vs prior year and budget by market
  • Ensure accurate and timely period end closing by coordinating with corporate accounting and tax, shared finance and commercial teams to ensure appropriate entries have been recorded and reconciled.
  • Lead P and L lines such as Overheads, Advertisement/Promotion, Freight and W and D for business, track expense vs budget and pro-actively manage delivery of working capital targets through close coordination with business leaders and their respective teams.
  • Support financial controller in timely reporting and submission of monthly management actual results.
  • Analyze data extracted from the accounting system for variances. Investigate variances and propose solutions where misstatements are found.
  • Ensure DOA adherence across processes.
  • Point-contact and support for all FSS and Corporate Accounting teams for FSS
  • Support Tax compliance on an ongoing basis and tax teams during tax audits
  • Support internal and external audit, monthly finance performance calls and business reviews.
  • Partner with respective function/region leads to support project preparation, implementation and monitoring.
  • Assist regional Finance management in encouraging and spearheading best practice across the region.

Education Qualification

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance and related fields
  • ACCA/CPA

Relevant Work Experience

  • Experience in audit firm preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position within a multinational
  • FMCG/Manufacturing company
  • Deep understanding of IFRS and local accounting and reporting process
  • Strong Analytical/Communication and Presentation Skills
  • Financial modelling, Scenario planning and Sensitivity analysis
  • Advanced MS Excel and Power point skills
  • Ability to handle pressure situations and meet short deadlines
  • Hands on SAP working experience.
  • Excellent command of English both spoken and written
  • Over 3 years in financial accounting/management accounting experience
  • Over 3 years in book-keeping, inventory, AR & AP management
