The MTN Super League is using the Fifa international break to play a couple of catch-up fixtures on Saturday, which could see a new leader at the summit by the end of the weekend.
Champions Power Dynamos and FC Muza are both in action in the last of their catch-up matches after both exited their Caf club competitions this season, and are the last two remaining teams who are unbeaten in the Zambian top flight this season.
The duo are both on 12 points, two behind leaders Zesco United, though Muza (+7) have a slightly better goal difference than Dynamos (+5).
The latter take on Green Buffaloes away from home having come through an early-season wobble to win three of their last four league games (D1). Buffaloes, by contrast, are languishing in 16th with a single win this season (D2 L3).
The last 33 league meetings between these sides have seen an identical record, 12 wins each and nine games drawn. But in matches at Buffaloes, it is actually Dynamos who hold the edge with a 6-4 win ratio and seven draws.
That being said, last season Buffaloes took four points off the eventual champions, one of the few clubs to enjoy some success against Dynamos.
Muza will host Forest Rangers, who have had a lackluster start to the campaign with two wins, two draws and two defeats in their six games. They are also averaging a goal scored per game, and a goal conceded.
Muza have three wins and three draws so far, with only Zesco scoring more than their 10 goals, but they have played a game more. The three goals conceded by Muza is the best record in the division.
Muza have won the last three meetings between the sides, all by a single goal, while the only other clash ended 0-0 in 2019.
