Zetech Sparks head Coach Bernard Kitolo believes his side will rise from a slow start in the Kenya Women Premier League, which has left them ninth on the log after nine matches.

Out of possible 27 points from their nine outings, Sparks have collected only nine; a record Kitolo is not smiling about.

He however believes they have the time to pick up the pieces and climb up.“We unfortunately gave a walkover to Vihiga Queens, losing three points on the spot and another three were deducted as per the FKF rules. The rule is that if a team gives a walkover, they are to be deducted three more points from their cumulative tally.

 “That is what happened to us, and it really affected our campaign. We have however put it behind us ,” explained Kitolo.

He now wants his girls to be at their best in their forthcoming league fixtures, away to Kisumu Starlets before taking on Thika Queens in a Thika derby.

 “Our main worry is not Kisumu Starlets but our arch rivals Thika Queens. It’s a team that is currently on form and we know their ability, but we have played them in friendlies even before the league began and my girls know what to expect.

“We are equally good and it depends on who will come more prepared,” added Kitolo.
