President William Ruto has continued to make fresh appointments to various boards and state corporations even as he seeks to align the government to his development plan.

The appointments have also been billed as a move aimed at rewarding his allies who played key roles in his election as the fifth president of Kenya.

In the latest appointments, according to a Gazette Notice dated February 3, Jane Lagat has been named the Chairperson of the Women Enterprise Fund Advisory Board.

She will serve for a period of three years, with effect from February 3, 2023. The appointment of Wanjiku Kabira has been revoked.

Former Chief of Defence Forces Samson Mwathethe has been appointed the  Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Forestry Research Institute.

He will also serve for a period of three 3years, with effect from February, 2. He will take over from John Waithaka whose appointment has been revoked.

The Coast Development Authority was also affected by the changes.

Mzee Mwinyi Mzee has been appointed the new chair and will take over from Philip Charo whose appointment has been revoked. Mzee will serve for a period of three years starting February 3.

In the same Gazette Notice, Ruto has appointed Aden Noor Ali the chairperson of the Board of Directors of the National Transport and Safety Authority. He will serve for a period of three years taking over from Agnes Odhiambo whose appointment has been revoked.

The head of State has also appointed Joseph Kimani Machiri, Claire Sifuna Wanyama, Ahmed Abdi Rashid, Mary Murangi Mugo, Caroline and Cherono Kilisha as members of the State Corporations Advisory Committee. They will serve for a period of three 3 years, with effect from February 3.

The appointment of Dennis Awori (Amb.) has been revoked.
