Premier League matches could be shown on a new channel as part of a 'radical' change to the TV schedule.
Premier League TV rights for between 2025 and 2029 will go up for sale soon, with a number of streaming giants expected to battle it out for coverage.
DAZN have been tipped to enter the bidding this time round but remains unclear whether they will have the financial power to match offers from Sky and TNT.
Meanwhile, Amazon are expected to withdraw from showing live football, according to the Daily Mail, after signing a three-year deal in 2018 worth a reported £90 million.
That may leave room for a new broadcaster to enter the fray, with both DAZN and Apple rumoured to be interested. The news comes amid reports that the Premier League are planning 'a radical reshaping' of the way they sell TV rights in order to make more money.
The English top-flight are planning to make £4 billion per year, an increase from the £3.47bn they earned last year, claim the Mail.
The report adds that a document will be sent to broadcasters informing them of the supposed changes, which include a four-year deal, as opposed to the three-year contracts currently in place. There are 200 games shown on TV each season, with Prem chiefs keen to increase that amount to between 250 and 270.
Despite the increase in matches shown live, there will reportedly be fewer packages available for broadcasters to bid for, decreasing to five places rather than seven.
The fewer channels means each individual streaming platform will be able to show subscribers a more "substantial offering".
Meanwhile, the changes could also have an impact on kick-off times. An additional Friday night, Saturday lunchtime and evening, as well as Monday night slots could be created to help cater for the busier TV schedule.
The idea of three matches on a Sunday has also been touted, with fans expected to be spoilt for choice when choosing Premier League games to watch.
