Political analyst Herman Manyora has said President William Ruto did not choose a Cabinet team that would help him run the government.
Manyora in an interview with Spice FM on Monday alleged that the President thought he could run the government by himself.
"I have no doubt in my mind, in forming his Cabinet, the President had no intention whatsoever that these are people who can run the government for him," he said.
Manyora described Ruto as focused, hardworking and intelligent.
"When the President put up the current team, I said this should be his undoing because the President is a competent leader, there is no doubt about that," he said.
Manyora said there is only so much an individual can do and that is where the need for a team comes in.
"If you do not form a Cabinet of people who can help you, you do the job yourself. So, the president in forming his Cabinet was behaving like things should be so well in the country, he would be running government himself," Manyora said.
Manyora said that Ruto is currently focused on politics and is losing sight of his role in running the government.
"But I pointed out to him my friend, you will be forced into politics at some point, and now he is forced into politics. Attending politics means he has no time to run the government. No time to run the government in a situation where you have no team to run the government because you thought you would do it yourself," Manyora said.
He said Ruto is intelligent, and looking at his Cabinet, he knows they can't help him run the government.
"The moment you turn away from the economics of running government to go into politics the economics will suffer and that is why we are where we are," he said.
