A family in Nandi is mourning the death of their son who was crashed to death in the United States of America.

The accident occurred after a car he was repairing knocked him to the ground.

The deceased Jacob Kiprop Birech was doing his PhD studies in the US where he had been for several years.

The accident that took his life occurred in Tobeka City Kansas State on April 6th.

He had removed the wheels of his car and went under it to repair some damage but he accidentally hit the jack causing the car to collapse crashing him underneath.

His sister Grace Maru confirmed the incident and said they were shocked by his death.

"He was looking forward to completing his studies but the accident has cut short his promising life," said Maru.

Maru said the family needs more than Sh7 million to bring back home the body of the deceased.

They are appealing to well-wishers to help the family which is organizing fundraising to transport the body home.

The family is from Kiborigok village in Nandi County.
