Goalkeeper Gad Mathews pulled a man-of-the-match performance as derby rivals Gor Mahia FC and AFC Leopards settled for a barren draw during Sunday's FKF Premier League clash at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.
The 95th Mashemeji derby saw both teams split the points with each having come into the match in good form.
Leopards were the sharper side but Mathews matched their efforts, pulling some important of saves to deny the home attack that was spearheaded by the in-form Ojo Olaniyi.
The first half was anyone's for the taking, much of the ball being played in the midfield with no team finding the breakthrough.
Gor Mahia forward led by Benson Omalla, George 'Blackberry' Odhiambo and Austin Odhiambo were denied shots on target thanks to the defensive masterpiece of Robert Mudenyu, Peter Thiong'o and Kayci Odhiambo.
Leopards though had the clearest of chances with the Nigerian sharpshooter Ojo Olaniyi receiving a cross from the right wing only to head it to Mathews gloves.
In the stoppage time of the first half, Cliff Nyakeya should have put Ingwe ahead with a brilliantly curled shot forcing the man in the post to a fine save.
Second half
Brian Wanyama looped a fine ball forcing Gor Mahia shotstopper Mathews to an acrobatic punch out for a corner.
Olaniyi saw his superb effort missing by inches to the disappointment of Ingwe fans.
Gor Mahia also had Onyango Alpha's shot go inches wide with both teams pushing for an opener.
Musa Saad exchanged with Jaffari Owiti who crossed into the box for Cliff Nyakeya's flick punched back to the field by Mathews with ten minutes to stoppage time.
