The three newly refurbished facilities have all been ticked to host both low and high-risk matches, with several clubs already expressing interest in using them.

Already, newly promoted side Shabana FC have announced they will play their first home match against fellow newbies Murang’a Seal at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay.

Meanwhile, the Thika Sub County, William Ole Ntimama in Narok, Gusii (used by Shabana) and Machakos Stadia have all not been approved to host any cadre of matches after failing the inspection threshold.

Last season, several sides, mostly Posta Rangers and Bidco United used the Thika Stadium for their home matches. Bidco, based in Thika, also played some of their home matches in Nairobi and will now seemingly permanently move their home to the capital.

Machakos has not been used for Premier League matches since the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic when the County Government turned it into a temporary hospital.

Narok was also sparingly used, but only in the 2021-22 season.

The Police Sacco Stadium, which also hosted several matches last season has also been approved to host both low and high risk matches, and so has the Ulinzi Sports Complex which also started being used last season.

The Kasarani Annex, Utalii Grounds, Tusker’s Ruaraka Stadium, Muhoroni Stadium and the St Sebastian park Stadium in Murang’a, used by Seals, have also been approved for low risk matches.

Clubs that use the facilities for their home matches will need to host high-risk matches elsewhere.
