The Lake Victoria Basin, the South and Central Rift Valley, as well as the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, according to the Kenya Meteorological Department (KTM), will all continue to experience rain through early March.
According to the forecaster, the regions that are currently receiving rain will continue to do so through the first half of the forecast period, which runs from February 28 to March 6, 2023.
According to Kenya Met, the rest of the country will remain dry and sunny, with average daytime temperatures in most parts of the country expected to be higher than 30 degrees Celsius.
At the same time, average nighttime temperatures in some parts of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley and the North Rift Valley are expected to be less than 10 degrees Celsius.
Kenya is still in the grip of its worst drought in 40 years, which has been exacerbated by a sixth consecutive failed rainy season.
The lack of rain has killed millions of livestock, destroyed crops, and forced over one million people to flee their homes in search of food and water.
