Danfoss an energy solutions firm Based in Denmark is eyeing the growing data centre market in Kenya to grow its foothold in the country.
The firm has slowly been affirming its local presence, through Kenyan partners, collaborations with universities and internship programs aimed to support young talents in Kenya.
However, it is now increasing the investment on people development, Partner capability, Contractor and Installer training and Customer support as it eyes Kenyas emerging opportunities in the energy sector.
Danfoss Country Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa Emil Berning, says that the firm will continue building a network of partners to improve geographical and market segment coverage locally.
“By 2025, data centers will for example consume a fifth of the world’s power supply, making it vital to create data centre sustainability and cut carbon emissions. Chillers and heat pumps featuring Danfoss Turbocor technology for example can cool data centers up to 30 percent more efficiently than traditional compressors” said Berning.
The danish company is growing its presence in the market with their current partners Jash Agencies, Centurion Systems, Hydromatics, Frigitec as it bets its success on collaboration with Danish Trade Council in Nairobi.
“As we focus on reduction of the carbon footprint around the world; Danish companies including Danfoss bring to this market a commitment to deliver technology and engineering that is sensitive to climate change as well as business solutions that are unique and impactful,” said Danish Ambassador in Kenya Ole Thonke.
He noted that the long-standing business relationship between Denmark and Kenya and the pivotal role Danish Companies such as Danfoss are playing in driving climate change mitigation interventions in areas of operation around world.
Berning was speaking after Danfoss met with more than 100 partners, customers, and industry experts to present its solutions to the local market.
As part of the seminars, the multinational aimed to create awareness and transfer expert knowledge to over 100 stakeholders in Kenya on how Danfoss solutions contribute to energy efficiency and decarbonization.
