Green Buffaloes pulled off a major shock with a 3-1 victory over defending champions Power Dynamos in their MTN Super League clash on Saturday, denying the latter the chance to go top of the table.
Dynamos looked to be cruising when they took a four-minute lead through Andy Boyeli, but hosts Buffaloes equalised on the half-hour mark via George Ngoma.
When Ngoma added a second after halftime, the momentum was with the home side and they sealed the three points near the end with a third goal from Golden Mashata.
Lucky Bwalya received a red card in the injury-time at the end of the game to sour Buffaloes day a little bit, but they will be delighted to have inflicted a first league loss of the season on Dynamos.
FC MUZA also missed the opportunity to go top when they were held to a 2-2 draw by Forest Rangers.
Bienvenu Mbongo Ekofo put MUZA in front with another early goal, before Quadri Kola and Lazarous Chishimba turned the game on its head before the break to put visitors Rangers 2-1 up. A penalty from Andrew Phiri rescued a point for MUZA.
