Andre Onana's berating of Harry Maguire became a huge talking point after Manchester United's defeat to Borussia Dortmund but it certainly wasn't an isolated incident for the Cameroonian.
There's a belief shared by many that you have to be a little bit mad to be a goalkeeper and Onana definitely reinforces that view with his love of dribbling near his goal and the amount of risks he takes.
But he received plenty of criticism in just his second appearance for United after rushing out of his goal and screaming in the face of Maguire like a prime Peter Schmeichel used to do.The rant came after Maguire gave Christian Eriksen a hospital pass in midfield and Dortmund broke away, with Onana required to make a save to deny Sebastien Haller.
The former Ajax man addressed the incident in a post-match interview with MUTV, explaining he has a "good relationship" with Maguire, who he called a "top guy and a fantastic player".
It clearly wasn't personal with Maguire as a flare-up with former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko at Inter Milan last season shows Onana is prone to losing his head.
In a 1-0 win over Porto in the Champions League round of 16, Onana was absolutely livid with the referee for the offside flag not going up early enough.
Francesco Acerbi was forced to clear the ball off the line before the linesman did then raise his flag.
However Onana was not happy and protested at the official, with Dzeko running back and telling him to “shut up and go back to goal" according to Corriere della Sera. That irked Onana even more and he then responded by animatedly telling Dzeko to "shut up", with Hakan Calhanoglu restraining the 27-year-old and covering his mouth.
Onana addressed the flare-up after the game and downplayed the situation.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, he said: "These things happen in the game, everyone has a right to think what they want. If the adrenaline that makes us angry also helps us to win games the way we did tonight, then it's welcome!"
Onana looks set to be back in between the sticks for United this weekend as they have two games in two days against RC Lens and Athletic Bilbao.
