Posta Rangers' head coach John Kamau wants his charges to maintain their splendid form this season and grab a maiden Kenyan Premier League title.
The Mailmen have a tricky tie against Talanta at Ruaraka Grounds in one of the Round Seven fixtures scheduled for this weekend.
The tactician, who took over the reins two seasons ago, is optimistic they will extend their unbeaten run to seven matches.
“We have done extremely well so far and I believe we can keep the momentum going in our next matches,” Kamau said.
“We have a lot of respect for Talanta and we are wary about the kind of challenge they are capable of posing in the match. And so I’m telling my boys to approach this match with all the seriousness it deserves,” Kamau added.
Kamau dismissed claims that they are under the pump to maintain their current status atop the KPL summit, especially with defending champions, Gor Mahia, breathing heavily down their necks.
“It’s still too early in the season to start feeling the heat and we do not feel any pressure at the top of the table. We can easily contain our closest competitors,” he said.
The Mailmen sit pretty at the summit of the log with 16 points, having won five games and drawn one.
Talanta head coach Ken Kenyatta said he expects a good match as they strive to crack a top-ten position. The Communications Authority of Kenya-sponsored club are 11th on the log with seven points.
“As you know Posta Rangers are the current league leaders and this speaks volumes about their fine form this season. Nonetheless, we are ready to give them a run for their money,” Kenyatta said.
