REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
A person shall be qualified to be appointed as a member of the Committee if that person:
a. possesses a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a university recognised in Kenya;
b. has at least 15 years’ professional experience in a relevant field;
c. has served in a top management position relevant field for at least 5 years;
d. has knowledge of national development goals;
e. has experience in performance management; and
f. satisfies the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Duties and Responsibilities:*

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Committee shall be responsible for—
a) negotiating performance contracts with public bodies;
b) ensuring that the performance targets of public bodies and indicators are aligned to the strategic plan;
c) ensuring that performance targets of public bodies are aligned to the performance indicators provided in the strategic plan;
d) ensuring that the public bodies’ indicators are aligned to results that are citizen-focussed;
e) undertaking mid-year performance reviews of public bodies; and
f) evaluating the performance of public bodies.
g) monitoring news coverage and tracking public perceptions of Government policies and initiatives;
h) collaborating with other Government agencies and departments to coordinate messaging and ensure consistent communication; and
i) advising Government officials and decision-makers on public relations and media strategies.
