WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Bar Instructor/Mixologist will be responsible for designing, developing and delivering a comprehensive curriculum in mixology and bar management. This role will involve providing theoretical and practical training to the students, staying up to date in industry trades and fostering a dynamic learning environment. The bar instructor/mixologist plays a key role in preparing students for successful careers in the beverage service industry.

Your key Responsibilities:

1. Design and update course materials related to mixology, bar management, and beverage trends.
2. Develop lesson plans that encompass both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical skills.
3. Conduct engaging and informative classes, ensuring students acquire essential knowledge and skills.
4. Provide practical training sessions, including cocktail preparation, mixology techniques, and beverage service
5. Incorporate industry best practices and emerging trends into the curriculum.
6. Develop and administer assessments to evaluate students’ understanding and proficiency.
7. Offer mentorship and guidance to students pursuing careers in mixology and bartending.
8. Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate mixology components into broader culinary programs.
9. Ensure the proper maintenance and cleanliness of the mixology laboratory and equipment.
10. Engage in continuous professional development activities to stay current with industry advancements.
11. Any other duties as may be assigned by the management.

THE SKILLS AND COMPETENCES WE ARE LOOKING FOR: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum requirements:

• College Diploma in Hospitality Preferably, Degree in Hospitality is an added advantage.
• Certification in mixology or related field is highly desirable
• Certification in wine preferably WSET Level 2 is an added advantage
•  Proven experience as a Mixologist or Bartender with a strong background in mixology.
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience or relevant instructional roles. A deep understanding of, commitment to and involvement in hospitality Industry
